Let It Go

"Don't ruin a new day by

thinking about yesterday.

Let it go."

Today's quote is definitely words to live by. I've wasted so much time looking back at my past and wishing I had done a few things differently. Who hasn't ? The problem with that is we're wasting our time because you can't change the past. We can only change the day that is in front of us so I'm working on keeping my eyes forward, instead of looking back at what I can't change or what I regret. I've said this before - every day we get a new 24 hours to "get it right", in case yesterday wasn't quite what you hoped it would be ! As long as I'm getting a new 24 hours I'm going to keep working on living the best possible life.

A while back I decided it's time to stop counting days. I started Nutrisystem on January 4, 2019 and I remain committed to the program. I reached my goal weight on July 23, 2021 and lost over 150 pounds. After taking a break from exercise to focus on work I gained a bit of weight back. On December 28, 2021 I started working on getting back to my goal weight. The next milestone in this paragraph will be the day I get back to 150 or less pounds. I started this "new" blog since the journey I started back in 2019 is over and I'm transitioning to my new life.

Breakfast was waffles with sugar free syrup and a yogurt. Morning snack was a chocolate protein shake. Lunch was my old standard - a pepperoni pizza melt with a chef salad. Afternoon snack was cottage cheese and oatmeal cookies. Dinner was roasted turkey with roasted veggies. Evening snack was a chocolate cupcake.

From an exercise perspective, this week is going much better ! I spent about 75 minutes on the treadmill yesterday and I haven't done that in quite some time. I haven't set up the Total Gym yet because I decided I need to get my treadmill routine back in place first. One step at a time ! Today I only spent about 45 minutes on the treadmill as I had some other things I wanted to do after work.

I had such a great weekend yet I didn't do anything extraordinary. I spent Saturday with my mom for our usual casino jaunt. We had a nice dinner at Emerald's at Turning Stone casino. I had chicken fajitas and they were great ! Sunday was my usual trip to Wegman's and Walmart to restock the fridge and pantry. I took a side trip to DQ for a burger and blizzard. Not proud of that but the trade off was getting a fair bit of exercise washing my car when I got home ! I spent about 3 hours washing it inside and out and she is sparkling. It was nearly 75 degrees Sunday - how could you not get outside and do something ?!?!? Just being out in the fresh air and sunshine lifted my mood to levels it hasn't seen all winter. I also spent a fair amount of time cleaning the laundry room since my cats are part jackrabbit and kick litter all over the place. I also cut up a huge salad and roasted a huge pan of veggies so I'd be ready for the week ahead.

Work has been super busy so Monday and Tuesday flew by. It was like I sat down at 8 am Monday and the next thing I knew it was already 4 pm Tuesday ! I just don't know where the time went. Weather yesterday was gray, chilly and rainy so it was a good day to be inside. Today was chilly but sunny and dry !

I picked up some springy silk flowers at Walmart Sunday so I arranged those tonight for the vase in the dining room. I have a block of floral foam left so I'm going to look for a vase and more flowers that I can put out on the front porch. I also spent some time downloading my Disney photos before they expire in the app. I need to work on my posing skills before my next Disney trip ! I had no idea how Photo Pass works or that they add "magic" to some of your photos. I also didn't know there was a Photo Pass studio at Disney Springs, but I will definitely find it next time around ! I really hope I get to go to Disney again because I feel like my next trip will be so much better now that I have a better understanding of all it has to offer. I think I said it before - you can't just "wing it" if you want to get everything you can out of the experience. On that note it's about time for bed !
